Jabra Drive Speakerphone – Streams GPS Info, Speaks Status Messages

Bluetooth and cell phone accessory maker Jabra has announced a new, no-installation-required Bluetooth speakerphone called simply Drive that connects to up to two devices (such as a phone and GPS unit) and requires no setup, speaks its own status messages and streams audio from a GPS device or smartphone in addition to acting as a hands-free cell phone speaker/mic combination, featuring 20 hours of talk time and 30 days of standby.

Users simply clip the device to the vizor and pair it with their smartphone and/or GPS unit. Large volume buttons on the speaker make it easy to adjust and keep drivers compliance with hands-free driving laws, which have increased around the U.S. and other countries. The unit features a voice guidance system that announces battery and connectivity status, and can easily be turned off when not in use.

The Jabra Drive speakerphone will sell for $60 when it is available in late July (it is already available outside the U.S.). It will be available from Amazon and Best Buy or Best Buy Mobile stores initially, followed by other retailers who carry Jabra products.
