Terminator Salvation and 3 Days to Kill director McG has lined up his next project. According to a story today at The Hollywood Reporter, McG will next helm The Babysitter, a horror comedy set up at New Line Cinema.
McG’s Wonderland Sound & Vision banner has long since been attached to the project. Scripted by Insurgent and Jane Got a Gun screenwriter Brian Duffield, The Babysitter landed near the top of the 2014 Black List of Unproduced Screenplays with the following log line:
A lonely twelve year old boy in love with his babysitter discovers some hard truths about life, love, and murder.
Since his last feature film in 2014, McG has been concentrating his helming duties on the small screen, directing television episodes, including the pilots “The Mysteries of Laura” and “Kevin From Work.” He’s also directing the upcoming pilot episode of “Shadowhunters,” the new ABC Family series based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.
Wonderland is set to co-finance The Babysitter with Boies/Schiller Film Group. The project will be executive produced by Duffield himself alongside Zack Schiller, James McGough and Wonderland Vice President Steven Bellow. Richard Brener, Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter will oversee for New Line.
