Sony answered concerns over the PlayStation Vita by giving early adopters a special model. The First Edition Bundle will come with a 4GB PS Vita card, a special-run case, and the mini-game title Little Deviants. Unusually, it will ship a full week earlier than for regular users, arriving on February 15.
The two bundles are available only in North America and will vary in spec depending on the country. In the US, the bundle provides the 3G version of the Vita linked up to AT&T and will cost $350. Canadians, who don’t yet have a 3G provider lined up, get the Wi-Fi version but pay a lower $300 as a result.
Pre-orders should start today, although at which stores isn’t apparent. Amazon currently lists only the plain editions.
A decision to create a larger bundle may help answer concerns over saving games on the Vita. Games that don’t save to the title’s own storage card need a memory card to run, limiting the number of games that a user can play without buying a card later.
