Solo: A Star Wars Story Wraps Post-Production – Watch Risk TV Spot

It took a long time to get to this point, but after a bumpy production the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story is now finished.

Taking to social media, director Ron Howard announced that post-production on the film has come to an end, with the film ready to screen. Over the past few weeks, Howard has been busy at Skywalker Ranch reviewing the visual effects while also mixing sound effects and music for the movie.

The film’s co-writer Lawrence Kasdan recently spoke with Empire Magazine and was asked about whether the film changed direction during production once Howard came onboard and replaced original helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller. He says:

“These movies are so gigantic, it is a little hard to identify exactly what moving part changes when there is a change of direction. But this movie had to go in a different direction. I’m a great believer that whatever preconceptions you have going into a movie, whatever resistance you might have, whatever excitement you may have because you’re going to see a familiar character, all bets are off about three minutes into the movie.”

Howard meanwhile has said he’s very grateful for the two gents who came before him:

If ever there was a completely honest version of creative differences, this is it… I didn’t witness any of it. I came in, just picked up and went. I’m very grateful for much of the work [Lord and Miller] did. Yes, we took some of the sequences in different directions and experimented with them and there’s a great deal of myself in the movie now. But their fingerprints are all over it in ways that I’m very grateful for.”

Solo: A Star Wars Story is slated to open in cinemas on May 25th.
