Twitter Rolls Out Message Notifications In the Browser

People using Twitter in their desktop browser can now opt to receive notifications when they receive direct messages. The notifications are opt-in and will flash in the upper-right corner of the browser when new direct messages arrive. Clicking on a notification opens the message in the messaging panel of Twitter.com.
