Google has begun informing owners of Nexus devices that it is shutting down the Device Assist app. The app, which first appeared in 2014, was meant to serve as a support tool for Nexus handsets. Google did not explain why it is discontinuing the tool. The change is effective immediately.
Apple has made iOS 9.3.5 available to the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. The update, according to Apple, resolves three security issues. Two of the problems could have led to remote code execution. Apple suggests all users update as soon as possible. The update is free to download over the air.
