The U.S. International Trade Commission has delayed making a final decision regarding a patent claim by Samsung against Apple that could lead to a ban on the import of iPhones and iPads.
The ITC was set to make a ruling on the matter March 13, but instead pushed the decision to May 31 in order to fully explore how a product ban would impact the U.S. economy. The ITC is also looking at possible licensing deals between the two companies and whether or not they may be able to resolve the claim on fair terms.
The claim revolves around a single patent that pertains to how data is transmitted and received by smartphones.
