Digital display manufacturer InFocus today announced the launch of the BigTouch all-in-one 55-inch touch screen PC. The Windows 8 computer ships with Windows 8 Pro, and includes a wireless keyboard and mouse. All Windows 8 touch screen gestures are recognized by the five-touch display, including slide, tap, swipe, pinch and rotate.
The device is driven by the Intel i5 processor, and includes two gigabit Ethernet ports, 802.11n Wi-Fi, two HDMI ports, and six USB ports of unknown speed. Storage is provided by a 120GB solid state drive.
An upgrade path to the company’s “Mondopad” will be available that adds collaboration features such as video conferencing, digital annotation, interactive white boarding capabilities, customizable interface elements and Microsoft Office 2010 Professional.
The BigTouch will be available for $5,000. Pricing is not available for the update to the Mondopad specification.
