The X Factor‘s Season 3 look continues to take shape now.
Mario Lopez will return as host of the singing competition, but this time around he won’t be splitting his duties with reality stalwart Khloe Kardashian, Fox announced today.
“I’m thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of The X Factor,” said Simon Cowell. “Hosting a live show and keeping the judges – especially Demi – in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he’s coming back.”
Kardashian’s exit from the show, meanwhile, was first rumored as early as last February, and Fox confirmed today that she won’t be in the mix for Season 3.
“Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host The X Factor,” said the show’s producers, in a statement. “We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
With news of Lopez’s return and Kardashian’s exit, it now stands that only half of the show’s Season 2 regular lineup will return. Along with Lopez, judges Cowell and Lovato are coming back, while L.A. Reid and Britney Spears, along with Kardashian, have exited the show.
