Dragon’s Crown will be appearing on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 on August 6, ATLUS has announced.
Originally announced at E3 2011, Dragon’s Crown is currently in development at Vanillaware, and takes the form of a fantasy-inspired 2D brawler. Gamers will have six character classes to pick from, the option of four-player co-op, plenty of skills to level up and of course, copious amounts of loot to horde.
The game has been a long time coming, which ATLUS observes is down to the “painstaking detail that makes every character, background or combat animation worthy of the artistic vision of Vanillaware.”
A spiritual successor to Princess Crown, the game once again takes much of its influence from Norse mythology, and features branching paths depending on the choices you make. Furthermore, players can transfer saves between the PS Vita and PS3 versions thanks to cross-save support.
