Fujifilm has shipped a new compact camera in its FinePix range. The FinePix JZ700 has a 14-megapixel CMOS sensor instead of a CCD sensor used in previous FinePix JZ models, said to help with low-light situations, paired with an 8x optical zoom lens that has a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 24mm wide-angle to 192mm telephoto.
Measuring at 18.9mm (0.74-inch) thick, the JZ700 includes a 2.7-inch 230k-dot LCD screen on the rear, sensitivity up to 3200 ISO, an 8fps burst shooting mode, and a number of built-in filters and effects. Video can be recorded at full 1080p at 30fps via the dedicated movie recording button, while a high-speed mode at lower resolutions can capture video at up to 200fps.
The FinePix JZ700 is expected to ship to the US in the near future, but is already listed on UK shopping sites for around £130 ($200).
