Archos has revealed the ChefPad, a tablet tailored for cooking enthusiasts. The Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean” device has a specific “chef apps” selection providing users a curated selection of cooking apps ranging from recipes, cooking tips, cooking TV, and cooking assistant apps.
The tablet features a dual-core 1.6Ghz processor with a quad-core graphics processor. Front and back 2MP cameras are installed in the 9.7-inch 1024×768 device. A silicone case integral to the device protects it from environmental hazards present in the kitchen, such as water and food splashes, and is easy to clean. A matching stand is included.
The ChefPad will be purchasable in the UK in June for £150 ($230). A US release hasn’t been announced.
