Fan fave Glee snuck in some weekend announcements about several cast members who won’t be returning. Four popular series regulars Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Amber Riley and Harry Shum, Jr. will all be moving on from McKinley High. To fill their chairs in the choir room, newer cast members Melissa Benoist, Jacob Artist, Becca Tobin, Blake Jenner and Alex Newell are all being promoted to series regulars.
All the “Wemma” shippers, and Jayma Mays fans of the world are rocking themselves in the fetal position, asking: What’s in store for the show’s grown-ups? with the news that Mays has signed on to another show on another network: CBS’ The Millers, playing the sister of Will Arnett. (Mays is replacing Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who played the Debbie character in the pilot. Margo Martindale and Beau Bridges play their parents.) Mays will be back on season 5 for at least the occasional appearance.
In better news for the show, the weekend also brought news that the Glee has been given early approval for 2 more seasons.
