HTC has modified its business operations in the U.S., reports the Wall Street Journal.
According to an email obtained by the Journal, President of Global Sales Jason Mackenzie will now lead HTC America. Mackenzie was previously responsible for HTC’s U.S. operations for about a year before taking on his global role in 2011.
The U.S. has historically been HTC’s strongest market, but CEO Peter Chou indicated that other markets will soon surpass the U.S. Further, Mike Woodward will lead a newly established business unit called Emerging Devices, which will be responsible for developing new HTC products as well as managing global distribution plans.
The changes are effective immediately, and follow several high-profile departures within the company earlier this year.
