Part of the 10th anniversary aspect of the franchise, NIS America is showing off the first dub trailer for Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness, which is set to release on October 8th in the US, which comes after the March release in Japan.
The game is set for the PS3 console and the voice cast for it in the original Japanese are all returning from the previous game as well. The English language cast has not been announced yet, though some eagle eared listeners may be able to pick out some familiar voices.
While the game follows what the previous installment was, the gameplay works to use various features from the whole series to date and brings in characters from the entire series timeline, making it a big bit of fun for the overall Disgaea fan.
Game concept: The Netherworld — a place where might makes right and today’s friends are tomorrow’s enemies. After a long journey with many ups and downs, Laharl finally finds himself as a full-fledged Overlord. However, the other denizens of the Netherworld do not see him as such, so he sets out on a journey with his loyal(!?) vassals to receive the respect he deserves. Along the way, Laharl will meet a girl who claims to be his sister, demons with bigger than usual chips on their shoulders, and find out that even his own body holds a few surprises for him…
