It looks as though EA’s back-end server tech may benefit audiences other than the Madden/FIFA crowd: DICE is “investigating” the possibility of transferring player data from current-gen versions of Battlefield 4 to their next-gen cousins, according to the series’ official Twitter.
In practice, this sounds similar to the technology that will power such functionality in Madden 25 and FIFA 14, where players that begin their Ultimate Teams on current-gen hardware can transfer their progress to the next-gen, should they ever make the leap. As of yet, no specifics have been given with regards to what kind of BF4 player information may or may not be transferable, should that functionality be added to the game.
