It’s been a long road for Robin Roberts over the past 12 months. Around this time last year, she left her post on Good Morning America in order to seek treatment for the bone marrow disease myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). At the time, the TV host needed a bone marrow transplant, and her sister was preparing to donate bone marrow to help save her life. The procedure went off without a hitch, and after months of recovery and blogging, she is returning for full time spot.
In February, she returned to the Good Morning America stage for her first post-surgery appearance, starting out that triumphant episode with the statement, “Hi, it’s Robin and I have been waiting 174 days to say this: Good morning America.”
So what she does next will be fun to watch.
We wish her the best of luck and welcome back!
