JBL has added a pair of new speakers to its lineup. The new JBL Spark brings a unique megaphone-like shape in its design, which has the flexibility to be hung on a wall, or stashed in a shelf, or laid on a couch. The JBL Pebbles are a new set of plug and play speakers that are powered over USB by a desktop or notebook that also incorporate built-in cable management.
The JBL Spark fits two high-performance 40mm JBL drivers into its unusual translucent cone shape with a frequency response of 76Hz to 20kHz. It does not integrate batteries, but its power cable can be used to wrap and hang the speaker from various locations and come with a stainless steel hanging hook. However, it incorporates Bluetooth connectivity for wireless stream from a device. The JBL Spark is retailing for $129 and is available in a variety of bright colors.
The JBL Pebbles come in a distinctive curved design that features a unique rotating volume control that syncs with a user’s computer so that volume does not need to be adjusted separately on the device and on the computer like most speakers. Each speaker contains a 50mm driver with a response of 80Hz to 20kHz, while it also uses digital signal processing and JBL’s patented SlipStream tech to enhance audio quality. The JBL Pebbles are retailing for $59 and are available in a range of colors.
