Pixelmator has been updated to v2.2.1 in the Mac App Store.
The update introduces a brand new file format that is said to use a number of modern OS X technologies to improve the speed of image editing. Compared to previous releases the software should now open and save documents twice as fast, and has also gained the ability to automatically save changes in the background. Along with various other improvements, Quick Look support has also been enhanced to allow users to preview Pixelmator documents without needing to open them first.
The image editing software can be purchased from the Mac App Store for $14.99.
