Google has revealed a forthcoming update to the iOS search application that will allow it to deliver push notifications.
The change will allow Google Search and the Google Now functionality within to monitor events that happen in the background and alert users to items such as changes in traffic. The updated app will also be more seamlessly integrated with Google Maps, as well as be able to save reminders. Google is offering some changes to the Android version of the app with “better conversation experiences” that make it easier to converse with the search engine without reframing the question each time.
Google also said that the mobile version of Google.com will be refreshed with the card-based user interface that Google has been moving towards on its mobile apps and services.
