“Orphan Black,” the Canadian-American clone drama that became a breakout hit for BBC America and made a star of its lead actress Tatiana Maslany, who plays multiple roles, will return with a new season this spring.
BBC America has announced a Saturday, April 19th premiere date for season two of the series, which will run for 10 hourlong episodes and is currently shooting in Toronto. The season description, per the network: “Season two of the series hits the ground running with Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) in a desperate race to find her missing daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler). Her scorched earth tactics spark a war with pro-clone, Rachel (Maslany), dividing and imperiling all the clones. As Sarah discovers more about her past, mysterious newcomers appear, but can they be trusted?”
Both BBC America and Space, the Canadian home of the series, have released teasers for the new season.
