LG’s 2014 Smart Appliance lineup will be utilizing a new service called HomeChat, facilitating appliance commands via SMS. Using the Line messaging app, HomeChat allows users to give natural language commands to LG Smart Appliances, such as putting a refrigerator into power-savings mode, or programming one’s robotic vacuum cleaner
LG has also announced a NFC tagging feature as well as smart diagnoses, helping to avoid unnecessary repair visits and more. LG’s 2014 Smart Appliance line is set to be launched at CES 2014.
