Huawei has launched its second-generation Ascend Mate2, bringing a long list of upgrades including LTE CAT 4 (150 Mbps) The company during its press conference went to how it will continue to promote its brand in the US and elsewhere.
The gigantic 6.1-inch smartphone is claimed to reach two full days of heave use, and even integrates an extra USB port so other devices can be charged from its 4,050mAh battery. We got a few minutes with the phone after the CES press conference was finished.
The Mate2 integrates the same display size and overall design as the first model, but is now thinner! Other improvement are an upgraded processor and more cell bands, making it a true world phone. The company claims it is compatible with all mobile network technologies.
The new model has new software tweaks and hardware optimizations which will require spending a few days with the phone to see if it lives up to its promises. But out of the gate this could be a winner, if price right. Ascend Mate2 is a move in the right direction to aid Huawei gain consumer mind share in the USa and Canada.
