Nintendo has sold over 15 million 3DS handhelds in Japan alone, according to a new report. It follows claims that Sony is poised to buy the manufacturing plant responsible for Nintendo’s DRAM processor chip, currently found within the Wii U.
Now, Famitsu reports that as of January 26, Nintendo sold over 15 million 3DS handhelds in Japan. It’s no surprise, seeing as we recently heard that 3DS was the UK’s best-selling handheld in 2013.
Famitsu’s report covers all iterations of the 3DS, apart from the 2DS model which is yet to launch in Japan.
