Adobe has released a new version of Flash Player for Windows and Mac, 12.0.0.44, to cope with a serious security hole. The company warns that exploits for the vulnerability have been seen in the wild, and that the problem could potentially allow an attacker to seize control of a computer. A matching Linux update is labeled v11.2.202.335.
People running Chrome or Internet Explorer 10/11 should see their browsers’ native Flash plugins update automatically. The vulnerability was originally discovered by researchers at Kaspersky Labs.
