Telecom device maker Huawei has launched the world’s smallest operation-level router named the Atom Router.
About the size of a finger, Atom Router can be deployed on any cloud server nodes or devices on an existing network which do not need any transformation. It can help realize visualization and management of an IP network, provide real-time precision performance testing, and help traditional networks achieve added-value.
Huawei’s Atom Router adopts the company’s advanced software platform and integrates its leading technologies. With the small size, Atom Router does not need additional power or site resources. It can be used by plugging into the port of any devices, including base stations, routers, and switches, on an existing network.
Gai Gang, president for Huawei’s carrier IP product line, said that Huawei launched the industry’s first router to solve problems in traditional networks that are invisible, immeasurable, and unmanageable. This new product help carriers develop networks, realize open networks and achieve network added-value.
Huawei’s carrier IP products and solutions already serve the three major Chinese telecom operators and global leading carriers, including British Telecom, Orange, Telefonica, Vodafone, and Singapore Telecommunications.
