Publisher Wired Productions will bring Tiny Trooper Joint Ops to the Playstation line of consoles. This includes all currently active platforms, PS Vita, Playstation 3 and PlayStation 4. While the name does sound new, this release is actually a repackaging of previously launched games, Tiny Troopers and Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops. They’re said to have exceeded 8 million downloads combined, though it isn’t specified on which platforms.
Originally, the Tiny Troopers franchise started as a simple mobile device game, where you took a few armed units and led them through desert and forest areas filled with enemies. Its original game was later ported to Steam by publisher Iceberg Interactive, who has since started focusing on 4X strategy games. Tiny Trooper Joint Ops will therefore act like most twin-stick shooters. Units move on one end and rotate to shoot enemies behind cover and so on. It’s also possible to lob the occasional grenade or explode a barrel here or there.
This is also a first for both publisher and developer coming together on Playstation 4. Previously, Wired Productions already helped get fishing title Let’s Fish! Hooked On get on the platform with a PS Vita game. Currently, Tiny Trooper Joint Ops does not have a release date for any of its Playstation versions.
