Apple has introduced another app channel to the Apple TV, ACC Sports. The app is a collaboration between the Atlantic Coast Conference and Campus Insiders, covering all of the schools participating in the ACC, as well as a smaller selection of events from other conferences. The app doesn’t offer any live content however, only highlights and miscellaneous pre-recorded features.
Live streaming could theoretically be added in the future. Campus Insiders offers live content from some events on its website, which may mean that it will only need to negotiate extended rights for the Apple TV.
Apple recently updated the Apple TV firmware to 6.1, making it easier to hide unwanted channels.
