Attack the Block writer and director Joe Cornish is taking the reins on Universal Pictures’ Section 6, The Wrap reports.
Aaron Berg’s script for the film came in at No. 2 on last year’s Black List of unproduced screenplays and is described as follows:
An exploration of the formation of Great Britain’s secret intelligence agencey, Military Intelligence, Section 6, known more commonly as MI6.
Cornish, long rumored to be next in line to take on a 13th Star Trek feature film, also co-wrote the upcoming Ant-Man with Edgar Wright.
Lawrence Grey, who developed the script for Section 6 with Berg, will produce with Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Marc Platt Productions. Jon Mone and Sara Scott will oversee the project for Universal.
