Boxee has confirmed talk that it will be releasing its own hardware for use with a TV set. Most details aren’t known yet. Boxee has not shared who will be making the hardware, but a mockup will be shown and further details will be available at the planned December 7th event for the Boxee software entering public beta.
Boxee first gained notoriety at the start of the year with an alpha build of its client for Linux and Mac OS X computers. Boxee has also shipped a beta for use on the Apple TV.
But, Boxee has been slow down by Hulu’s attempts to block it from accessing their studio supported site. While improving the software during the past year and fighting with Hulu, Boxee also entered into partnership with Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) to have their MLB.tv Premium add to the the platform.
