Meg Ryan has joined the cast of CBS’ upcoming sitcom “How I Met Your Dad,” EW reports. She’ll provide the show’s first-person narration, just like Bob Saget did on “How I Met Your Mother.”
The spinoff, first announced last October is set to star Greta Gerwig (Frances Ha, Arthur). Emily Spivey (“Up All Night“) and “Mother” co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are writing the pilot and are attached to executive produce.
The show will center on Gerwig’s all-new female lead, Sally, and her own group of friends with Ryan voicing “Future Sally.”
“How I Met Your Mother,” which starred Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, recently concluded its ninth and final season.
