Navigation and traffic app Waze has updated to version 3.8 for both Android and iOS, including a redesigned main menu and more integration between the app and a users’ contacts. With permission, the app can sync “Waze friends” with one’s contact list, which can be useful if a group of people in separate vehicles are heading to the same destination.
Users can send their location and driving route to multiple friends, allowing them to track progress and even see an estimated time of arrival. Users can also share an address with a friend that sends a Waze link with directions. As a result, the update also changes the way users send and receive friend requests.
