Huawei-Honor-6-MulanHuawei took the stage today to announce its flagship Honor 6 handset, previously codenamed as “Mulan”. Huawei hasn’t pulled all the stops with the handset, as it doesn’t sport the fashionable Quad HD display resolution, but, frankly, we are perfectly fine with the phone’s 5″ 1080p display pixel density. Even better – Huawei has managed to shrink the side bezels to 2.36mm, crafting a very compact chassis with 139.8 x 68.8 mm dimensions, and just 6.5mm thickness. These specs put Kirin 920 on equal footing with the upcoming Snapdragon 805, and Huawei’s boss actually bragged that the company’s homegrown processor is even more powerful than Qualcomm’s creation.

Furthermore, the Honor 6 sports 3 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card, and a 13 MP camera on the back, plus a 5 MP front-facing shooter. Huawei’s new flagship will arrive with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, coated with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.3 overlay. As to the price and release date, Huawei is yet to officialize those,
