BlackBerry today said it has appointed Marty Beard to the post of Chief Operating Officer.
Beard worked for LiveOps and Sybase before joining BlackBerry. Beard will be responsible for marketing, application development, and quality and customer care. The COO post had been vacant since Kristian Tear left last November.
BlackBerry CEO John S. Chen also hails from Sybase.
