The latest entry in Square Enix’s Mana series — known as Seiken Densetsu in Japan — is coming to PlayStation Vita. Rise of Mana, a free-to-play action role-playing game released for Android and iOS earlier this year, is slated to appear at Tokyo Game Show for Vita.
The mobile game features 8-player cooperative multiplayer and is bolstered by microtransactions designed to allow players to progress faster. Since Rise of Mana’s launch on iOS in Japan, Square Enix has supported the game with a series of updates, which it appears it will continue to do on the Vita version.
The last Mana title, Circle of Mana, launched as a card-based RPG for iOS and Android in Japan last year. Square Enix has been creating games in the Mana series for a variety of platforms since 1991.
Rise of Mana is slated to come to PlayStation Vita this winter in Japan, according to Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show 2014 website.
Square Enix also plans to bring Deadman’s Cross, a zombie-themed collectable card battle RPG, to PlayStation Vita. The game was previously released for Android and iOS. The rest of Square Enix’s TGS 2014 slate can be seen at the publisher’s official site.
