As promised at Sony’s pre-TGS press conference, when new Vita firmware was teased, Vita update 3.30 is going live tonight, Wednesday, October 1st. Vita’s 3.30 firmware update allows personalization of both the start and home screens on the handheld. You can tinker with the actual background images, application icons, and even the background music that plays while you browse.
According to Sony, there will be “non-game” themes called Crystals, Four Seasons, and Stitching available for Vita owners to use right off the bat, as well as themes surrounding three Sony first-party exclusives: Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Tearaway, and Freedom Wars.
Oh, and if you’re a Trophy hunter you’ll be pleased to know that PlayStation 4’s ability to see the rarity of any Trophy — on PS3, Vita, and PS4 — will be brought to Vita. This update sounds mandatory, so be sure to seek it out as soon as you can, so you can download it and keep your Vita game time uninterrupted.
