Cherry Jones and Bradley Whitford are joining Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen in I Saw the Light, the story of legendary country western singer Hank Williams who, in his brief life, created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music.

I Saw the Light is directed by Marc Abraham from his screenplay which chronicles William’s meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life. It is based on Colin Escott’s award winning biography.

Jones, who will play William’s mother, Lillie, is well known for her Emmy award-winning role as the president in the hit television series “24,” as well as her Tony award-winning Broadway roles in “The Heiress” and “Doubt”.

Whitford will play Fred Rose, Nashville’s most important music publisher who helped guide Williams’ career and also served as a close friend through some of the performer’s roughest times. Whitford is well known to audiences from “The West Wing” and most recently appeared in Transparent.

RatPac Entertainment presents a Bron Studios/RatPac Entertainment production, in association with Creative Wealth Media Finance, I Saw the Light is currently in production in Louisiana.
