HP launched quite a few high-resolution monitors at CES, along with a few other notable displays. The HP Zvr is a virtual reality display that forms part of the company’s Blended Reality ecosystem, while two 4K screens are joined by a 5K-resolution model, with the collection rounded out by four curved high-resolution computer monitors.
At its core, the Zvr Virtual Reality Display is a 23.6-inch screen, combined with 3D glasses. While it can output a 1080p image to each eye, its collection of sensors can track the movement of the wearer’s head, enhancing the 3D effect, while a connected stylus is used to move objects in 3D space. While HP has yet to reveal how much the Zvr will cost, it will apparently go on sale during the spring.
HP Zvr Virtual Reality Display
The HP Z27s and Z24s are 27-inch and 23.8-inch displays, offering 3840×2160-resolution images with an aspect ratio of 16:9 covering the sRGB and AdobeRGB color gamuts. Offering connections over DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, Mini-DP, MHL, and USB 3.0, HP is also including the four-way ergonomic stand with a pivoting action, allowing the displays to switch between portrait and landscape modes. The Z27s and Z24s will be going on sale globally in January and April respectively, priced at $750 and $550 depending on the size.
HP Z27s 4K Monitor
The 5K-equipped Z27q display boasts a resolution of 5120×2880, with the IPS screen offering a similar color gamut as its 4K stablemates. With the same 16:9 aspect ratio and 300 nits of brightness, the display also includes picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, letting the user view multiple video sources on the same display. HP expects to ship the Z27q from March for $1,300.
HP Z27q 5K Monitor
The HP Z34c and the Envy 34C 3000r curved displays are similar screens, measuring 34 inches diagonally with a resolution of 3,440×1,440 at an aspect ratio of 21:9. Both have a 98-percent sRGB coverage, 6-Watt speakers with DTS audio, picture-in-picture modes, and a VESA-compatible bracket. Both are expected to go on sale globally in April for $1,000.
HP Z34c curved Monitor
Lastly, the EliteDisplay S270c and Pavilion 27c 4000r curved displays are 1080p versions measuring 27 inches diagonally. Offering an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a 95-percent sRGB color gamut, these curved screens are also fitted with 4-Watt speakers with DTS Audio processing. The HP EliteDisplay S270c and Pavilion 27c are available now for $400.
