The soundtrack details to everyone’s favorite “Twilight”-fan-fiction-turned-Kindle-porn’s film adaptation has been released, so Danny Elfman fans can finally stop pretending “Fifty Shades of Grey” will not be on his resume of film scores next to “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Batman.”
Apart from a couple of tracks from Elfman’s score, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” soundtrack includes yet another cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put a Spell On You,” this time by Annie Lennox (this writer’s favorite is the Creedence Clearwater Revival version, especially since his car was stolen with Creedence tapes and a briefcase full of business papers inside). We also get Beyoncé’s “sensual” new version of “Crazy in Love,” along with tracks from veterans like The Rolling Stones and Frank Sinatra (clearly, money was no object in licensing tunes) plus new school folks like Jessie Ware, Sia, The Weeknd and more.
The soundtrack will be released on February 10, 2015 so you can pretend to listen to something else on the subway from that day on. Full track list below along with a new TV spot and sample tracks. [Film Music Reporter]
