Adam Pally, who plays Dr. Peter Prentice on the sitcom, is exiting The Mindy Project to pursue other projects (although he has promised to guest star if his schedule permits), and now we know what one of those big, new projects is. As first reported by E! Online, Pally will be one of The Late Late Show‘s guest hosts on CBS before the show’s new, permanent host James Corden (Into the Woods, Begin Again) takes over on March 9.
Pally will have his chance at his hosting next Friday, Jan. 30, and he will be joined by guests Ben Schwarz (Showtime’s House of Lies and Parks and Recreation), Eric Andre (FXX’s new comedy series Man Seeking Woman), and alternative rock group (and Seth Cohen’s favorite band) Death Cab for Cutie. In addition to Pally, other Late Late Show guest hosts include writer/director Judd Apatow, singer John Mayer, and comedy actors including Will Arnett, Wayne Brady, Jim Gaffigan, Billy Gardell, Sean Hayes, Thomas Lennon, and Kunal Nayyar.
The Mindy Project returns with an all-new episode, “No More Mr. Noishe Guy,” on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 9:30 p.m. The episode will feature Mindy and Danny’s latest relationship hurdle, when she gets the opportunity to to start her own practice in San Francisco after he has just purchased the two of them a house in New York, and it will also serve as the show’s farewell episode to Pally’s character.
