Disney Interactive and WayForward have released DuckTales: Remastered on mobile devices. The game is a modern remake of the original DuckTales Nintendo game from 1989, and sees players helping Scrooge McDuck track down legendary treasures scattered around the world (and moon).
The side-scrolling platformer offers three difficulty levels, and sees players controlling Scrooge McDuck using four directional buttons on the bottom left corner of the screen. Action buttons are placed on the lower right corner, but players can change the orientation of the controls by swapping the action buttons, or turning on “lefty mode,” which reverses the entire control layout.
While each level has a set goal, players can explore secondary pathways for extra treasure or health boosts, and will face off against boss characters for additional challenge.
As the name suggests, DuckTales: Remastered offers improvements over the 8-bit original. Like versions of the game released on home consoles, this mobile title offers an expanded storyline, improved graphics, an enhanced soundtrack and more. The game features the original voice-actors and over 90 pieces of production art from the original DuckTales television series’ archives. These are purchased using the in-game currency gamers collect while playing.
DuckTales: Remastered is available to download for $9.99 on the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Windows Phone Store and Windows Store.
