Dell Debuts Larger Venue 10 7000 Android Tablet with Keyboard Dock

Dell has launched a new larger version of its Venue 8 7000 Android tablet from September. The Venue 10 7000 is a premium tablet meant for business, with the slate using a 10.5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560×1600, though unlike its smaller stablemate, Dell is providing the option of turning it into a notebook, by using a detachable keyboard dock.

While the majority of the Venue 10 7000 is fairly thin, the design of the tablet uses a large cylinder along one edge, as well as an attachment point for the magnetic backlit keyboard, which can be used to make it fit into one of five different configurations. Inside is a quad-core Intel Atom processor running on Android 5.0 with Android for Work set up to allow for a work and private separation of data and apps. To make the tablet more appealing for work, Dell will be offering Office for Android on it and the Venue 8 7000 later this summer.

On the slightly less productive side, it ships with MaxxAudio Mobile by Waves and front-facing stereo speakers. It also has an Intel RealSense snapshot depth camera, which creates a depth map for photographs, allowing it to perform DSLR-style bokeh blurring for backgrounds.

Dell is shipping the Venue 10 7000 this May in the United States, Canada, and China, priced at $500 for the tablet alone, $630 with the keyboard.
