Sony’s Android 5.0 rollout continues today with a quartet of new phones getting a taste of Google’s Lollipop.
Sony says that the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z3 Dual are getting their Android 5.0 update starting today. The push is underway in markets around the globe, but as usual, the exact timing will vary by carrier.
Sony’s Android 5.0 push will continue with the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 next week. After that, Sony expects the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, and Xperia Tablet Z in “a few weeks.”
The Android 5.0 update for Sony’s Xperia smartphones includes a number of new tweaks, including a refreshed set of navigation buttons, an updated notification style, Android for Work, and a “streamlined” look that’s based on Lollipop’s Material Design. To check for this update, grab your phone and go into Settings > About phone > Software updates > System updates.
