Comic Con International announced on Monday that it will host Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi as a special guest at this year’s convention. Each special guest usually will have a “Spotlight” panel at the convention, which will run from July 9 to July 12 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Takahashi’s Yu-Gi-Oh! manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1996 to 2004. The manga launched an international hit franchise that continues to this day with card games, anime, toys, and newer manga series. The latest anime, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, premiered in Japan last spring and is set to debut internationally this year.
