Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to Castlevania currently raising money on Kickstarter, will create a Wii U edition now that it has passed $3 million in funding.

The project’s creators — which include the former producer of Castlevania, Koji Igarashi — posted  that a surge of donations from nearly 800 backers pushed the project over the $3 million threshold.

Bloodstained promises to deliver physical copies for Wii U as well as a digital edition. Those who have already backed the project and wish to receive the game on Wii U when it launches don’t need to do anything except “wait for the post-Kickstarter survey,” to select their game, the creators say,

Armature will be handling the Wii U edition, promising Pro Controller support, the ability to play exclusively on the Wii U GamePad, in-game Miis, and an annotatable map displayed on the GamePad while playing Bloodstained on the television.

With this goal surpassed and still 12 days left in the campaign, Bloodstained has set two additional stretch targets: at $3.25 million, it will offer asynchronous online multiplayer, and at $3.5 million it will be ported to the PlayStation Vita.
