Amazon has greenlit a third season of Transparent, well in advance of the Golden Globe-winning dramedy’s Season 2 release date.
On board for Season 3 are Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award winner Jeffrey Tambor, Critics Choice Award nominee Judith Light, Gaby Hoffmann, Amy Landecker and Jay Duplass, while series creator Jill Soloway will continue on as showrunner, as part of her new overall deal with Amazon Studios.
“I am so thrilled that I get to share more of the Pfeffermans’ story with the world,” Soloway said in a statement. “We are all so in love with watching them change and grow. I am blown away by the creative freedom Amazon gives me and I can’t wait to reveal where this journey is going to take us.”
Transparent Season 2 only recently started production, with an eye on a Fall 2015 release date. Season 3 will drop sometime in 2016.
