The latest addition to Outlander‘s Season 2 cast is a Frances de la Tour
She is known for her portrayal of towering Beauxbatons headmistress/half-giantess Madame Maxime in the Harry Potter films, will play Mother Hildegarde in upcoming episodes of the Starz series, the network announced Tuesday.

Mother Hildegarde is the commanding Mother Superior of Paris’ L’Hopital des Anges. Claire spends a significant amount of time at the hospital in Dragonfly in Amber, the Diana Gabaldon novel on which Season 2 is based.
The Tony-winning actress’ credits also include roles in the movies Into the Woods and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, the ITV series Vicious and the BBC One comedy Big School.
In May, series co-executive producer Maril Davis tweeted that Outlander had cast Mother Hildegarde’s pooch, Bouton, who is her constant companion in the book.
Other new cast members include Stanley Weber (Agatha Christie: Poirot) as Le Comte St. Germain, Robert Cavanah (Hatfields & McCoys) as Jared Fraser, Dominique Piñon (Alien: Resurrection) as Master Raymond, Rosie Day (Homefront) as Mary Hawkins, French actress Margaux Chatelier as Annalise de Marillac, Marc Duret (the La Femme Nikita film) as Joseph Duverney, Laurence Dobiesz (ITV’s The Bill) as Alex Randall and French actress Claire Sermonne as Louise de Rohan.
