PlayStation 4 owners will now have the chance to play first person shooters in a way similar to the PC. The Hori Tactical Assault Commander 4 is a licensed peripheral that imitates the basic control setup of a PC keyboard, as well as accepting mouse inputs, in order to mimic PC gameplay on the console without official mouse support.
The USB controller effectively converts normal button presses on a keyboard into the DualShock 4 equivalents, reports GameSpot, with a USB port on the back allowing a mouse to be plugged in and used to control aiming. A touchpad, dedicated “walk” and “snipe” buttons, multiple controller profiles, and LED backlighting are also included.
It is expected that the Tactical Assault Commander 4 will be going on sale in October, priced at around $130, and with compatibility for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The previous model, version 3, offers the same functionality for just the PlayStation 3, and costs $100.
