Microsoft recently updated the beta version of Cortana for Android and gave it the power to supplant Google Now. Cortana beta testers can now set Cortana — rather than Google Now — to launch with a long press of the home button.
The change makes it easier to use Cortana on Android phones, though people will still be able to interact with and launch Google Now on their handsets via other actions. Cortana is Microsoft’s personal assistant, which can do many things like Google
Now, like set reminders and surface travel details. Microsoft has not yet said when it will release a 1.0 version of Cortana for Android.
