Already available on PC, Xbox, and mobile platforms, with over 150 million registered players across them, Wargaming announced today that World of Tanks is coming to PlayStation 4, complete with specific features and exclusive bonuses.
A “free-to-play and free-to-win mega hit that’s easy to pick up and a challenge to master,” World of Tanks boasts 30-player battles, with over 350 tanks across five different classes available to choose from.
Wargaming talked about what’s different about the PS4 version of World of Tanks:
“Complete DualShock 4 functionality means players will feel, hear, and touch the battle like never before by incorporating light bar and controller speaker capabilities, as well as touch pad support. World of Tanks on PlayStation 4 will also support other key platform features, including Share Play and PlayStation Vita Remote Play, as well as revamped controls designed to optimize the handheld experience. Exclusive to the PlayStation 4, for a limited time only, are two new maps.”
While PlayStation Plus isn’t required to play World of Tanks, members will gain access to a number of benefits, including a free premium tank with exclusive camouflage, three days of Premium Account time, and special discounts on other purchases.
Asked about PC cross-play with PS4, Wargaming’s Marvin Hall said, “It won’t be cross platform.”
No release window was given for World of Tanks, but you can sign up for the beta, which is set to go live “in the coming months, helping us to tune and put the finishing touches on initial launch of the game. That will happen before the end of this year and you’ll receive special beta awards for participating.”
